Abstract

The Iraqi economic crisis increased and developed after the entry of US forces in 2003 AD, and the entry of ISIS gangs in 2014 AD to some provinces (Anbar, Salah al-Din, Diyala, Kirkuk and Nineveh), as the problem of economic development worsened in general, and the phenomenon of unemployment and poverty spread among the population, and a decline in the economic sectors, The dominance of the oil sector has increased over the overall economic activity, and the country suffers from structural problems related to the labor market, mainly related to the rentier nature of the economy, and the numerical predominance of small-sized enterprises, of a family or traditional nature, especially in the agricultural sector, and in most cases with low productivity and little dependence on Technology, and unstructured, and therefore the Iraqi economy does not generate a sufficient number of job opportunities for the human force, especially for those with scientific competence, nor does it provide job opportunities that meet the requirements of decent, protected work that generates sufficient income, in addition to the problem of the large gap between the requirements of the labor market And with the weakness of the link between education and production, and the summary of the reports indicates that the structure of the Iraqi economy after 2003 AD is classified into two basic categories: All production, the dominance of the government sector, and the weakness of the private sector, both of which are related to the dependence of the economy on the oil sector, a feature that will have lasting repercussions on the characteristics of the working population.

This study aims to identify the size of the human force between 15-64 years and its spatial variation according to the governorates and the environment in Iraq for the period 2010-2021, and to reveal the rate of economic activity for the human force between 15-64 years who are "economically active" and represent it in the regions of the rate of economic activity in Iraq, and shed light on Their distribution according to economic activities.
