The Scientific Journal Unit at the College of Arts, AL-Iraqia University is responsible for issuing the Midad AL-Adab Journal. The journal aims to provide equal opportunities for all researchers. Therefore, papers are accepted for publication on the basis on their intellectual contents, regardless of the gender of their authors.

Researchers:

Researchers should ensure the originality of their research and that it meets high professional and ethical standards, they are presented below:

  • Honesty and accuracy in documenting evidence and results without lie, disinformation or deception.
  • The researchers are arranged according to what was mentioned in the body of the research, provided that the names are mentioned in the first sequence should be authors’ names who provided the main idea of the research. Besides, the researcher who is responsible for corresponding the journal must add names of all authors who contributed to the research and he must not add names of authors who did not do anything.
  • Researchers should refer - correctly - to the research that was mentioned in the body of research.
  • Researchers should review their research according to the proposals of the reviewers, and in the event that the researcher does not agree to adopt the proposed amendments, he must provide a logical justification.
  • The research is subject to the plagiarism detection program and making sure that the rate does not exceed 20%, and the researcher is obligated to pay the financial expenses incurred by the evaluation procedures in the event that he requests to withdraw the research, or if he wishes not to follow up on the evaluation procedures, or if he ignores taking into consideration some of the evaluators' observations. Evaluation process and Reviewers:

The journal considers the process of evaluating scientific research by specialists as a major stage in the stages of scientific publishing. It is also the policy of the journal to ensure the professionalism of the work of scientific reviewers and their commitment to the journal's ethical laws, they are highlighted as follows:

  • Research submitted for publication in the journal is subject to evaluation by specialists.
  • In the event that the editorial board finds that the research submitted for publication is compatible with the journal's publishing policies and the integrity of the scientific research procedures, the research is sent to two specialized evaluators to evaluate it and write a detailed report on its integrity and scientific originality, using a form designated for this purpose.
  • The journal's editorial board deals with the names of the reviewers and their reports in complete secrecy, and only discloses them to the members of the editorial board, who also deal with them in complete secrecy.
  • The journal deals with research submitted for publication in complete confidentiality during its evaluation and before its publication.
  • In the event of receiving a negative report from one of the reviewers, the research is sent in its original version to a third scientific reviewer to decide on its validity for publication.
  • The evaluators must investigate objectivity in the judgments and results of the evaluation process.
  • Evaluators are supposed to distance themselves from personal interests.
  • Evaluators are supposed to pay attention that the research in question is free from plagiarism and they must refer to all published works from which plagiarism has been made in the body of the scientifically evaluated research.
  • Evaluators are supposed to abide by the time allotted for the evaluation process.

 

The duplication of research submitted to the journal:

  • Researchers must not submit any work that was previously published in other journals. Also, they must not submit their research to more than one journal at the same time. As this is, in the opinion of the journal editorial board, unacceptable behavior, and contrary to the ethics of research and publishing.
  • Researchers have the right to publish their research in other journals only after receiving an official rejection from the journal or if the journal officially approves the request to withdraw their submitted research.

Publication Ethics:

The journal takes practical steps to prevent the publication of research in which violations of research conduct have been committed. In any event; The journal does not allow such behavior.

Copyrights:

Copyright is transferred to the journal when the researcher is notified of the acceptance of his submitted research for publication in the journal.

The journal maintains hard copies and an electronic archive of the Journal issues and volumes.
