The artistic image is one of the basic elements that make up the literary work since its earliest ages, as it represents harmony and a coalition between words and their formulation in an innovative style, transforming them into visual images that the reader's imagination can interpret and transform into moving scenes with a meaning that is consistent with the vision and purpose of the creator. The artistic image is one of the most important means that helps in conveying the creator's ideas in a way that attracts the reader's attention and arouses his admiration, as it gives the literary text its aesthetic value and artistic strength. It is also a product of the interaction of the creator's imagination with his ability to employ the structural unity of the text, in which the idea, emotion, and words combine to present the meaning in a tight style that reveals the common relationships between tangible and intangible things through suggestion or symbolism. Thus, the artistic image appears as an expressive tool that highlights the literary work in its entirety, to reflect the creator's experiences and emotions through tools such as simile, metaphor, metonymy, and metaphor. As for the sources of the artistic image in pre-Islamic prose, they were inspired by the depths of the pre-Islamic environment itself. This environment, with all its components, contributed to shaping and developing artistic images, as aspects of life in the pre-Islamic era were clearly reflected in their literature, especially prose, to present an honest picture of their reality, daily interactions, various experiences, and attitudes towards life and its affairs.
