The objective of the current research is to identify:
1- Risk-taking behavior among middle school students.
2- Psychological security among middle school students.
3- The Correlational relationship between risk-taking behavior and psychological security among middle school students.
To achieve the researcher’s goals, the researcher adopted a measure of risk-taking behavior and built a measure of psychological security, on a sample of (300) students from the middle school in Baghdad Governorate. The researcher adopted the risk-taking behavior measure (Jawamir, 2011), which consists of (34) items,
The psychological security scale was constructed from (30) items. The researcher extracted the psychometric properties of the scale from validity and reliability, as the reliability coefficient by repetition reached (0.75), while the Cronbach equation reached (0.80), and thus the reliability is considered good.
The most important findings of the research are that the sample members, who are middle school students, enjoy risk-taking behavior as well as their sense of psychological security, and that there is a statistically significant relationship between risk-taking behavior and psychological security.
In light of the research results, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and proposals.
