Abstract

Personification is defined as one of the figurative devices mostly employed in literature. It is concerned with giving human features and characteristics to inanimate things such as animals. The current study is a translation analysis of strategies employed in rendering the personifications used in the Animal Farm Novel by George Orwell. It raises the following question: What are the best translation strategies employed in translating the personification of the abovementioned novel into Arabic? The researcher selected four available Arabic translations of Animal Farm and he chose nine samples of personifications not to mention designing an eclectic model of translation analysis so as to result so as to answer the question of the research. The conclusion answered the question raised by saying that paraphrasing, addition and explanatory translation strategies employed in translating personifications of Animal Farm Novel into Arabic.
