Abstract

The study of the history of population growth and tracking the demographic patterns of population growth for an extended period of time reveal multiple overlapping population facts that go beyond the limits of fertility, birth , deaths , and average life span , represented by economic development , and others . The demographic shift provides an opportunity to take advantage of the demographic gift of the society to make the best use of this demographic bounty and prepare for it properly .The research came to show the picture of the four stages of the demographic transition and where the province of Anbar is located during its transformation within any stage based on the official population statistic for the period 1977 – 2018 and an indication of the speed of the transition of the province of Anbar through these stages , and whether the province is ready to benefit from the desired Demographic gift .
The research came up with a number of results , most notably the following ;
1 – the trend of demographic transition and changes in the age stricture of the population of Anbar Governorate indicate an expansion in the intermediate category , and this makes the province within the scope of the gift circle .
2 – the Anbar governorate must accelerate the pace of economic growth , activity employment and increase its rates , and address the problem of unemployment in order to invest efficiently and high energy flows represented by the young middle class .
3 – Activating population , educational , health and service policies in order to build a behaviorally and culturally oriented society that is aware of the need for family planning , birth control and mortality reduction , and reducing maternal and child mortality .
