Abstract

This current study  refers to the study of the facilities of the grain milling industry in Thi-Qar province in order to identify the reality of this industry and its geographical concentration. This research included two requirements:

  1. Defining the grain milling industry and its importance. The second section also included its classification and spatial distribution in Dhi Qar province, as the study showed that the total designed production capacity of grain milling facilities amounted to 3231 tons / day for the year 2021, and the actual production amount reached 1975 tons/day, which indicates the existence of a part A large amount of production is idle, amounting to 1256 tons/day, at a rate of 38.87% of the design capacity of grain milling facilities in the governorate. The study of the grain milling industry facilities in the governorate revealed that the spatial concentration of this industry’s facilities was in the Nasiriyah district, as this district acquired 7technical facilities at a rate of58.33% of the total number of technical establishments operating in the governorate, and the Rifai district came second with two technical facilities representing a rate of 16.66% of The total number of establishments in the province, while Al-Shatrah district acquired one technical facility, which represented 8.33% of the total number of facilities in the province but this is not the case with AL- Chibayesh and the Soog Al-shiyookh them to facilitate the process of studying them ,and their spatial distribution according to administrative units and distribution is the necessary starting point for studing any geographical phenomenon and a necessary step for understanding the behavior of different phenomena and analyzing the factors that helped in their existence.
