Internal migration towards Al-Rafidain neighborhood in Basra

Abstract

This study dealt with the analysis of the reality of internal urban migration and the reasons for the population's turnout to the Al-Rafidain neighborhood (Al-Hakimiyah) in the center of the city of Basra by studying the migration factors as well as knowing the variation of the geographical, economic and social characteristics of the migrants and the extent of their impact on the cases of internal migration in them. The results of the study showed that one of the most important The motives of internal urban migration towards the Al-Rafidain neighborhood is the decrease in income if this constitutes a great motive for moving towards other regions, as well as this motive appeared in the first place for the movements that occurred in different time periods, and this shows the importance of this issue.
