Geographic analysis of traffic accidents in Iraq for 2018

Abstract

    The research aims to study traffic accidents in Iraq for 2018 geographically based on the data of the annual statistical report for transport and communications, population estimates and the Geographic Information System Program (Gis) with the finding of the standard degree of traffic accidents, and specializes in the study of accidents of run-along.  In Iraq, which accounts for 36 percent of the world's population, Of the total traffic accidents, the research highlights traffic accidents according to the type of road and according to the state of light and during the months of the year and accidents inside and outside the city, and revealed that basra province formed the highest percentage of accidents of run-overs at the rate (17)%, and that the accidents of the run-overs that occur inside the city The month of October is the highest month in which the incidents of ranes in Iraq were recorded, while the month of December is the least month, and the study recommended the need to maintain roads permanently, expand the streets, build bridges, put signs and traffic signs and reduce the Importing cars excessively in Iraq.
