Abstract

Religious communities and their impact on the cohesion of Iraqi society during the Mamluks 1749-1831

    During the second half of the eighteenth century until the first quarter of the nineteenth century, Iraq witnessed the intertwining of social and political phenomena, which had a clear impact on the impact of religion on the cohesion of Iraqi society, as well as the intellectual movement brought about by clerics, The growth of the community spirit and the preservation of the essence and relations of Iraqi society at the time.

It is interesting to note that religious and sectarian pluralism in Iraq often coincides with or follows the multiplicity of nationalities. Perhaps the most varied and diverse phenomenon has been the distribution of national, religious and sectarian groups based on the density of their presence in these regions, In certain periods, it is known historically that the shrines and religious shrines have played important roles in the cultures of peoples and nations and emphasized the spiritual interdependence and emotional cohesion among members of one society and find that not only at the level of the Islamic religion, but embodies it in the beliefs of religions And even according to the standards and customs that were advocated by these religions. The concept of the shrines was common in the cultures of the peoples in general and in particular. Moreover, it was associated with the journey of the man so long historically that the holy shrine was associated with the inspiration of the lofty meanings in the spiritual and spiritual connection between man And what he believes or believes in.
