Abstract

Abdullah Bin balkeen's book "The Identification" has a very prestigious status among historical works, for being a historical document written by an eyewitness of the sedation era, and the era of the most important sects in the history of Andalusia. Thus his memoir is of high effect and importance.

This research talks about (The Defensive Tricks of Ibn Balkeen), in which the book uses the methods of psychology and the connection between the types of the psychological methods adopted by experts of psychiatry, and the memoir of Ibn Balkeen in his book "The Identification".

The first part of the research contains the definition of: the defensive tricks, Ibn Balkeen, and his book "The Identification". Whereas the second part will include  selected models from his book, where he justifies his views towards the events. While the third part talks about Ibn Balkeen's personal character to being the key to understand why he resorted to it in order to defend himself and his behavior.

It seemed obvious that the purposes of Ibn Balkeen's notations were addressed in a big part of it, to convincingly explain, his role in the consecutive events, to the readers. Starting from his takeover of  rule, and ending with Al-Moravid throwing his rule and taking over, passing by his exile to Aghmat in the South of Morocco.
