The study seeks to approach the concept of cultural references in the novel The Alchemist by the Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho. For researchers and scholars, and to stand on a simple reading of this novel, its events and facts, and a conclusion to the most prominent results, including: We found a group of cultural references strongly present in the novel The Alchemist, including the religious  By mentioning some religious texts and quotations from the Holy Qur’an and the Torah, or mentioning some religious aspects, as well as the existence of literary and philosophical references, and the writer relied on them in forming his narrative structure, to form an integrated structural system for us, as it is a philosophical novel par excellence
