Abstract

     The concept of intent represents the focus of linguistic studies, especially those concerned with analyzing texts and understanding speech. Arab scholars, both ancient and modern, have been concerned with the concept of intent and its role in understanding and interpreting Quranic discourse. The first topic included talking about intentionality in the two styles of command and forbidding, and the second topic included talking about intentionality in the methods of interrogation, wishful thinking and calling.
