Because of the scarcity of literary and critical studies about it, and the lack of previous studies dealing with this kind specifically, we chose the topic, so the study tried to answer several questions, including: Is there a pure Iraqi police novel? What are its elements and the extent of its availability and means in our Iraqi novelist discourse?
The narrative discourse expresses various creative ideas, including the idea of police investigation and the investigation of criminal cases, as it is a human dimension to build a healthy society through an imaginary world that reflects and criticizes reality. The book follows it in including police in their creative work, and the research question or its hypotheses appears in clarifying the extent of the existence of the sense or the police soul in the fictional discourse, and the determinants of the research appear in our selection of some novel models, which are nine novels
The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach and was divided into two directions, the first is theoretical, the other is procedural, and the divisions come in an introduction followed by two studies. In the first we learned about the history of the police novel and we presented in it its beginnings, development, its most important flags, conditions and types. And the means included in this literary genre, and then a conclusion came to clarify the most important results of the study, followed by a list of the sources and references of the study, and the value of the research appears by explaining the police dimension in the studied speeches, and drawing the attention of researchers to them because; This study is a first step for other studies that shed light on it, and the fruit of the research appears to be a new building block that opens horizons for other future studies.
