Abstract

The preaching councils in Baghdad during the Abbasid era under Seljuk control were then a place of learning and religious and social education. They were widely distributed in various areas of Baghdad, and there is a great demand by the people who seek knowledge and knowledge.

In this regard, a large number of preachers, who had a role in preaching and guiding people and advising them about the command of Allah Almighty and revealed to the Prophet Muhammad () from the truth, emerged.

The task of preachers was not limited to the preaching of the public, but some of them were keen to provide a sermon to the rulers and officials and warn them of dereliction of duty, although there is intolerance by some preachers, what is only a result of the foreign occupation, which was intended to stir sectarian division between Sons of the community.

The preaching councils of the Abbasid period, a scientific and educational institution, provided many benefits to the people of that era.
