Abstract

The research showed that social media is no longer just a technical tool for interaction, but has become an influential linguistic and cultural space in the structure of the language itself, as it has contributed to the spread of new linguistic patterns, such as abbreviation, voice writing, emoticons, and the use of Latin letters in writing Arabic, which has directly affected the level of adherence to classical Arabic linguistic rules, and has led to the emergence of challenges related to the weakness of linguistic competence, and the decline of grammatical and stylistic standards among some categories of  users.
