Abstract

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful This study examines the scholarly editing and typographic presentation of didactic poems (*manẓūmāt*), exploring the underlying objectives, editorial methodologies, and approaches to textual precision employed by various scholars. It also addresses numerous questions regarding the editing of scholarly verse. Particular attention is devoted to Ibn Mālik’s *Alfiyyah* over the last two decades; the study describes, analyzes, and critically evaluates various editions and scholarly editions, arranging them chronologically and concluding with a comparative analysis of their differences and similarities. The work comprises an introduction—featuring a brief biography of Ibn Mālik and an overview of his *Alfiyyah*—followed by two main sections (each containing six subsections), an appendix presenting photographic samples of various editions and scholarly versions of the *Alfiyyah*, and indices of sources and topics.
