Abstract

The phenomenon of rural migration has increased significantly since 2003 for several reasons, including water scarcity and the resulting decline in agriculture, increased desertification, insufficient support for farmers, the influx of imported products, and the allure of urban life. This has led to a migration of people to the city, resulting in a change in the population distribution of Al-Rifai. Therefore, this research aims to explain this phenomenon by relying on and analyzing population data, which revealed an increased concentration of the population on the outskirts of the city, particularly in newer neighborhoods and agricultural or marginal areas. After dividing the research into several axes, it arrived at a set of conclusions and recommendations.
