The Holy Quran - Surah Al-Ma'idah - Fundamental Principles - Prohibition of Alcohol.Abstract
Praise be to God alone, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet... The subject of this research is: (The fundamental principles derived from the verse on wine: (90-91) in the prohibition of alcohol from Surah Al-Ma’idah)
As for its contents, the research generally consists of an introduction, a main body, a conclusion, and a bibliography of sources and references.
The Introduction: It includes the reasons for selecting the topic and its significance, as well as the methodology I followed in conducting the research and its overall plan.
The Main Body of the Research: It comprises the uṣūlī issues (legal-theoretical issues) derived from the verse that constitutes the subject of this study. The research includes a number of uṣūlī issues and discussions, the total of which reached forty-four uṣūlī issues, according to what became evident to me from the statements of exegetes (mufassirūn), legal theorists (uṣūliyyūn), and linguists concerning the noble verse. Particular care was given to formulating each issue in precise uṣūlī terminology. If an issue was explicitly stated by the uṣūliyyūn in their works, it was cited as such; and if it was not explicitly stated, I exercised scholarly reasoning (ijtihād) in formulating it in accordance with the methodological approach of the uṣūliyyūn, while documenting each issue from authoritative sources.
The Conclusion: It includes the principal findings and recommendations. The research arrived at a number of conclusions, most notably the importance of linking uṣūlī issues to the scriptural texts of the Qur’an and the Sunnah, and directing the efforts of researchers in the Islamic sciences toward giving due attention to such studies and presenting further uṣūlī applications in light of them, thereby enriching the corpus of uṣūl al-fiqh scholarship.
