Abstract

The political discourse during the Umayyad Caliphate in Al-Andalus began when Abd al-Rahman al-Nasir proclaimed the Umayyad caliphate there in the year 316 AH / 928 CE. His first political address was the announcement of the Umayyad caliphate in Al-Andalus. The discourse evolved through various changes due to the conditions in Al-Andalus and the personalities in power. Each of these factors had both positive and negative impacts that reflected on the discourse and its trajectory in Al-Andalus.
