Abstract
Hijaz had suffered from economic and financial crises during the Mamluk period, and had an impact on the lives of the population.
There may be economic crises either natural causes or human , and among the natural causes spreading of epidemics and diseases that affected the population and their livestock, or the lack of rainfall for long periods, which leads to drought and this is reflected on the crops of agricultural for their depending on rain and wells.
Whereas the human causes, including dissension and internal conflicts among the rulers, or be external conflicts leading to cut off supplies to the cities of Hejaz, all of these reasons lead to the economic and financial crises.
Although the occurrence of such crises, but we note that the Mamluks had a distinct role in processing the crises at the possible extent, they had sent large quantities of supplies to the Hijaz, and continuously throughout their rule, which lasted from 648 to 923 AH.
