Abstract

Abstract:

The Seljuk state was one of the largest states that emerged in the Islamic East. The Seljuks were of the pastoral Turkish element, known for their strength and resilience. This state was able to overthrow the emirates with which it entered into conflict with, until it reached Baghdad and overthrew the Buyid emirate. This vast state's rulers were interested in the scientific and cultural aspects of it by supporting scholars and thinkers and establishing many schools known as the Nizamiyya, which are similar to universities in our current era. In these pages, we have presented some of the human sciences and their most prominent scholars, such as jurisprudence, interpretation, hadith, and linguistics.
