Research Summary
This research derives its importance from the significance of the Holy Quran and its understanding, the impact of language on comprehending the Quranic text, and the multiplicity of meanings it conveys. The importance of this study is further demonstrated by its derivation of strength from the importance of exegesis itself. Its author distinguished himself by being a pioneer among many commentators, having lived between 430 AH and 514 AH. Moreover, the significance of this study can be summarized by highlighting the efforts of commentators in employing language to serve interpretation. Among the scholars who paid great attention to linguistic research in the interpretation of the Holy Quran was Imam Abu Nasr Abd al-Rahim ibn Abd al-Karim al-Qushayri al-Nisaburi (d. 514 AH), author of the commentary "Al-Taysir fi Ilm al-Tafsir" (Facilitation in the Science of Exegesis). This commentary paid considerable attention to the linguistic aspects in explaining the meanings of the verses of the Holy Book and included... Al-Qushayri, may God have mercy on him, employed subtle phonetic, morphological, grammatical, and semantic nuances in his exegesis to serve the Qur'anic text and clarify its meaning.
