Interpretive Questions of Imam Abu al-Layth Al-Samarqandi in Surat al-Fatihah and Surat al-Baqarah

Abstract

The importance of interpretation is one of the most honorable sciences of the Holy Quran because of its connection to the Book of Allah Almighty. Thus, the predecessors and successors who were opened to Allah began to understand it in terms of meaning and care for what is in it, thinking and contemplating the sciences of the Holy Quran. Scholars competed to extract its treasures, and they wrote great books of high value in this regard. The reader enjoys what they wrote, explained, clarified, and understood, using the best interpretive methods and styles that reveal the meaning of the Quranic text. They excelled in writing in this science, and the interpretation of the glorious book gained the attention of researchers and scholars, including the Imam and jurist Abu al-Layth al-Samarqandi - may Allah have mercy on him - so his interpretation called "Bahr al-Ulum" was one of the best compositions and interpretation books of the predecessors in the fourth century AH; because it shows its reader the author's deep knowledge in various sciences and fields.
