Since the dawn of humanity, accountability has been an integral part of self-awareness and awareness of others. The scales of justice have served as a crucial criterion for determining one's position between right and wrong, justice and injustice, righteousness and deviation. Amidst the complexities of daily life, humanity needs a constant reference point to regulate, evaluate, and redirect behavior towards the purpose for which it was created. The Holy Quran came to provide this reference point, encompassing a comprehensive system of values and principles that govern humanity's relationship with its Creator, with itself, and with the universe around it. Among the most prominent of these values are accountability and measurement. The significance of this research lies in its treatment of a fundamental concept within the Quranic framework: the concept of accountability. This concept has a profound impact on shaping the Islamic understanding of human existence and responsibility in this life and the hereafter. The research seeks to uncover the areas and objectives of accountability in the Holy Quran and to demonstrate its role in building the Muslim character on foundations of self-awareness, behavioral discipline, and a constant awareness of God's watchfulness. The study also addresses the types and stages of divine accountability. It employs an objective analytical approach, analyzing relevant verses within their linguistic and interpretive contexts, drawing upon authoritative commentaries and the Islamic interpretive tradition. The study concludes with several findings, most notably that the Holy Quran establishes a comprehensive vision of accountability, reinforcing moral awareness and emphasizing human responsibility for actions, both outwardly and inwardly. Furthermore, it lays the foundation for a comprehensive concept of justice encompassing both this world and the hereafter.
