Coexistence in the novel "Intended Mistake" by the novelist Mohamed Saber Obeid

Abstract

       Coexistence is a fundamental principle in preserving cultural diversity. This can only be achieved by providing the conditions that make this principle effective and capable of producing constructive dialogue and a culture based on mutual understanding and acceptance of others. Coexistence is based on treating difference as diversity, not discord, and as variation, not conflict. This necessitates its application within a single society, between different societies, and even between nations and peoples of varying religions and beliefs. Since difference is a universal and immutable law, it constitutes a characteristic that accompanies all societies and states. The philosophy of coexistence allows for the establishment of a culture of shared living based on respect for the multiple identities within society. However, this diversity can turn into a source of threat or conflict if it is not framed within a context based on the values ​​of tolerance, respect, and mutual recognition. Thus, coexistence becomes a necessity to guarantee the unity of society amidst its pluralism .
