The New Baghdad Municipality provides a range of services to its residents, including educational services—particularly at the kindergarten level. The municipality includes 30 kindergartens distributed across its various neighborhoods, of which 22 are public and 8 are private, with a total enrollment of 6,454 children (boys and girls).
This study aims to shed light on the reality of kindergartens in the New Baghdad Municipality by analyzing data related to the number of kindergartens, buildings, children, classrooms, and teachers, in light of the local standards issued by the General Directorate of Educational Planning at the Ministry of Education.
The research includes an introduction that outlines the importance of the topic, along with the research problem, hypotheses, objectives, and the spatial and temporal boundaries of the study. It also examines the geographical distribution of kindergartens and the patterns of this distribution, focusing on spatial planning and the criteria used in selecting kindergarten locations. Furthermore, it evaluates the spatial distribution of kindergartens within the New Baghdad Municipality according to educational standards and estimates the municipality’s future needs for public kindergartens.
The study concludes with a set of findings and recommendations aimed at improving the current situation, followed by a list of references used in preparing the research.
