the broken plural from the Arabic language .The research traces the uncommon plurals that occeur in this pattern and highlights the significant role this phenomenon plays linguistic usage The studay is divided into an introduction and two sections.The introducation defines the notion of rarity both linguistically and terminologically along with its synonymous exepressions.The first section discusses the ) Fu´al( pattern and provides examples of its occurrences in the Qur´an and in Arabic poetry. The secondsecotion investigates the rare plurals of this pattern as documented in lexicons and linguisitic references.
