Representations of the critical position on the ghazals of Ibn al-Ahnaf (d. circa 192 AH)

This research studies the critical stance and critical practice regarding the ghazals of Al-Abbas ibn Al-Ahnaf, as a pioneer of the school of chaste ghazal in the first Abbasid era (132-334 AH), in which he specialized and became famous. In order to know the critical representations regarding the poet’s ghazal, the research was divided into three main axes, preceded by an introduction in which the researcher touched upon the development that occurred in the image of ghazal in the Abbasid era, in harmony with the civilizational changes that this era witnessed, The first axis was the response to the suspicion and doubts raised by Dr. Taha Hussein about Al-Ahnaf’s poetry. The second axis dealt with the poetic school that the poet specialized in, so that the researcher showed that the poetic school of Ibn Al-Ahnaf was specifically in love poetry, which took over most of his poetic output. The third axis was about monotheism in the poet, so that the researcher showed that Al-Abbas Ibn Al-Ahnaf was monotheistic in his love,
