Abstract

Abstract

The Prophet's biography is a central source through which a deeper understanding of the personality of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) can be achieved, as well as his religious, political, and social role in the formation and development of Islam. The Holy Quran is considered one of the most important sources of the Prophet's biography, despite its privileged position as a sacred text for Muslims.

Western Orientalists have been interested in studying the Prophet's biography through its various sources, foremost among them the Holy Quran. Among the most prominent of these Orientalists is Michael Cook, a leading figure in contemporary Islamic studies and an academic researcher specializing in early Islamic history studies.
