Abstract

Beauty is one of the criteria for choosing a wife, according to the Prophetic tradition. With the advancement of science and medicine, beautification has become a common topic in our society.

Since beautification is a sensitive issue that pertains to a woman's face, some women may find themselves tempted to go beyond moderation, which could lead them to the undesired or forbidden. Therefore, there is a pressing need to clarify the Islamic ruling on these matters.

While classic books have addressed the topic of beautification in a manner that was consistent with their time, there was a need for a new formulation that would be in harmony with the demands of our era. The widespread of beauty centers is due to women's desire to remove imperfections that mar their appearance and to alleviate the hardship and embarrassment caused by these imperfections.

Thus, it is necessary to state the Islamic ruling on the removal of natural imperfections from a woman's face, while observing the conditions set forth by Islamic law for this matter.
