Subduction is one of the geomorphological processes that occur on the surface of the earth, leaving behind pits of various depths, for many and varied reasons. This soil type is one of these reasons and it is responsible for the occurrence of (Al Fariss Subsidence) which is the subject of the study, where the collapsing sandy soil was saturated with sewage water, which is exposed to loads and continues pressure because of construction Road on it, the reason behind the Subsidence.
The importance of this type of applied studies is to monitor the causes of problems and dangerous that is effecting engineering facilities, and the possibility of avoiding them when planning for future infrastructure projects. The study relied on repeated field visits to the Subsidence site, located in the Hurriya area at the Dabbash stores. The results of two test pits were approved. All laboratory tests for soil were obtained from the Municipality of Baghdad.
The study depended on analysis the tests of two pits that presented the study field.
