Abstract

Judgment is a holy matter among all nations according to their progress or primitivism and attains a supreme status in the society.

Therefore, the researcher decided to write about a well-known Islamic symbol in judgment that is the judge Shureik bin Abdullah el-Kuffi el-Nakh'i. His childhood and youth was accompanied by mutinies, and disturbances. Moreover, political, sectarian and tribal struggles covered many countries including Iraq. In addition to his knowledge and prestige and his social remarkable position the writer tries to focus on the characteristics that qualify him as a judge.

The paper is divided into two parts and a conclusion. The first part deals with the biography of judge Shureik; the second part deals with the judicial rulings; the conclusion sums up the findings.
