The problem of poverty has become one of the important issues that should be given attention, and an attempt should be made to find solutions that contribute to addressing the problem of poverty in all its forms by making many radical economic, political and social changes. As for the problem of poverty in Iraq, which is a problem that has a great impact on Iraqi society, we notice a frightening increase in the number of poor people, and the problem may worsen in the absence of effective solutions to limit this problem. A national strategy must be prepared to alleviate poverty in Iraq, which has been on the rise since the eighties of the last century as a result of the circumstances that Iraq has gone through, including wars, economic sanctions and an almost complete halt to development projects. This has negatively affected the deepening of the problem of poverty. Such a strategy will work to alleviate poverty, although the issue of poverty is not an easy matter. It is difficult and requires political will supported by resources, just as it requires a planning vision that integrates the economic and social dimensions.
