Abstract

This paper is considered an important step among group of steps that through it one can define journalistic coverage that the Iraqi newspapers do and the way they handle central issues that concern the country particularly the issue of the elections of governorate councils. It is always necessary to write papers of this kind with every new subject to be acquainted with positives and negatives of this coverage. This paper is concerned with making an analysis of the subjects published by Al-Sabah and Al-Zaman newspapers (Baghdad Edition) during the period from 20/3/2013 till 9/4/2013 a period assigned by the higher commission of electionsto carry out the election campaigns.
