Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify the effect of the Deans model in developing artistic skills among students of the Department of Art Education in the handicrafts subject and to measure the size of the effect of the Deans model. The researcher used an experimental design with an experimental group with a pre-test and a post-test for the handicrafts subject to suit the sample, students of the second stage. The sample consisted of (69) male and female students, and through it, the researcher arrived at the results by using the research tool, the skill test, to find out by answering the test items. The researcher analyzed the data using the statistical package (spss). The results have shown, including: There is a positive impact of the Deans model as a modern model in teaching that contributed to increasing the cognitive and skill achievement of the students of the Art Education Department compared to the usual traditional method through the effect size index, which reached (0.09). Using the available educational means according to the steps of the model helped. Students stay away from the monotony of the lesson and encourage them to continue participating and interacting. There is great interaction in the lesson among the students.
