Evaluation of Urban Land Use in the City of Semel According to Planning Indicators

Nowadays, Land uses become an extremely important within urbanized areas due to their services. One of the aims of land use planning is to obtain a balance between population and land to meet societal needs according to planning standards. Semel city has witnessed a significant development in land use areas as well as an increase in population during the period (1965-2022). However, this relationship between population and land use remains ambiguous and superficial. Land consumption rate, land absorption coefficient, and land change rate were used to understand the relationship between land and population in addition to its interaction with the needs of population within the city. To determine the balance between population and land use areas, the study found that there is an imbalance between land use areas and population in the Semel city during the study period.
