Abstract

This research aims to study the geographical distribution of the martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq and the numerical and relative distribution in the governorates. The research included the distribution of martyrs within the borders of Baghdad Governorate because it represents the largest number of martyrs in Iraq, as well as the relative importance of the martyrs in the city of Baghdad to the number of the martyrs in the administrative units. This importance stems from the fact that members of the Popular Mobilization Forces represent an independent military formation and part of the Iraqi armed forces. It is worth noting that the formation of the Popular Mobilization Forces is linked to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and has achieved stability in the balance of military forces at the regional level.
