Abstract

Cities around the world suffer from the problem of providing services, especially the problem of supplying drinking water services, which is a global phenomenon that is more severe in dry areas and areas far from rivers, as water represents the most important water resource that humans need. This study addressed the most important problems that the residents of the Latifiya district suffer from. Preparing potable water. These problems were represented by the technical malfunctions that the water complexes are exposed to in the study area, in addition to the aging of the life span of these complexes, which is estimated at twenty years or less, and the fractures that the network is exposed to, in addition to the encroachment on the water networks by some farmers and their exploitation in Watering their crops, in addition to the interruption that occurs in raw water from the source, because the study area depends on the principle of water share between the provinces of the study area, by dividing the water share between those provinces, which leads to water interruption in some provinces for three days or more, in addition to breaks. Which occurs in the lined (irrigated) river. In this study, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology was used to prepare alternatives and future plans to solve the problems that the region suffers from, through a hypothetical design of the water network in the study area .
