Abstract

The difference in the prevailing climate with its various elements, heat, rain, humidity and wind, are among the environmental challenges faced by the residents of Bani Walid.ــThis challenge has been taken into account and taken into account in order to overcome the problems resulting from it, which the builders took into account in the past when constructing and building the old house in the city. Which was taken as a case study in this scientific paper, where the focus will be on making use of the construction and construction materials available in the surrounding environment so that the residents adapt to the prevailing semi-desert climate within which their city is located, which gave the old house there a distinctive architectural form and a unique building style. This method, which has been proven to be successful despite its simplicity in the process of constructing and constructing the old house, which this paper will discuss in three main axes, which are: The first axis: The concept of the prevailing climate. The second axis: Suitability of construction and building materials available in the surrounding environment.
