It was the diplomatic negotiations that led to the two treaties between England and France in November 1655 and March 1657 which were surrounded in dilemmas by two states of different religious doctrines, they negotiated with each other despite their religious differences, and eventually achieved a sometimes unstable but workable alliance. The alliance also provided a case study of the issues and challenges that faced diplomacy between the English and French cultures in the middle of the seventeenth century in Europe , and the goal of the alliance was to eliminate the control of the Habsburgs in Europe in general and Spain in particular.
