Treason is one of subjects that was debated in the ancient world knowing that ancient Iraqi literature has dealt with many topics like the creation of the universe and the very existence of Gods and human, as well as the ancient literature narrated epics and legends as well lamentation and satire , The Research titled “Treason in the ancient Mesopotamian literature” is dedicated to study and observe treason as an act that was not only involved with men but included Gods as well, and the motives pushed towards treachery , it seems that treason is a based factor within the self and sometimes is triggered by hate or fueled by envy, ancient Iraqi literature dealt with this topic as an instance in Etana Epic and how the eagle betrayed his trusted friend the snake and how the eagle nearly faced death and managed to gain repent.
