During the world war India was a British colony subject to the British crown   so Britain was mobilizing the forces of its armies from the Indians , through which to achieve a lot of victories in its battles and campaigns in which the Indians had an important role in the British campaign on Iraq , which began since their descent in Basra in 1914 , The Indians had a clear activity in which they were able with the British a lot of victories and history cannot ignore that role while they were fighting in a strange land and under British leadership and they were answered by an enemy that the Indians were afraid to confront it especially Muslims from them , which is the Ottoman army , They were from the same Islamic religious faith , so the impact of that fighting for the Indians at that stage was difficult , not only physical fatigue but its effect was moral and psychological on them more during the period of the siege The city and what they faced , while they were trapped from killing , disease and hunger until they occur in captivity .
