Abstract

This study falls within the realm of literary research aimed at highlighting the intersections and divergences between two of the most ambiguous critical terms: intertextuality and intratextuality. These terms are significantly intertwined within literary works. Using a historical approach، the study traces the development of these phenomena from their inception، examining their evolution and expansion within cultural studies. It also incorporates a comparative method to shed light on areas of overlap or separation between the two terms. The study is structured as follows: Introduction: Discusses the importance of the topic، motivations for its selection، methodology، and approach. Prelude: Explores the relationship between the two terms and the text as the source for each. Section 1: Entitled “Intertextuality،” this chapter delves into the concept of intertextuality، its presence in cultural heritage، whether in creative practice or critical thought، through terms like quotation، inclusion، and adaptation. Section 2: Focuses on “Intratextuality،” examining its definition، origins، forms، and its historical and contemporary manifestations. Section 3: Analyzes the similarities and intersections between the two terms. Conclusion: Summarizes the main findings of the research.
